SALARY: $99,395 - $129,253 per annum

DUTIES
The Director of the Institute of Entertainment and Media Arts, has accountability for positioning Red River College Polytech (RRC Polytech) as a leader in Entertainment and Media Arts. They will have direct responsibility and oversight in developing and delivering education, training, and applied research. They will lead the development and delivery of two new programs, and a suite of micro-credentials. Through the development of positive and productive internal and external relationships as well as effective leadership, the Director will attract new talent, develop, and design new academic programming. The successful candidate will ensure that all elements of the Institute aligns with RRC Polytech’s 2022-2026 In Front of What’s Ahead Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will ensure that all elements of the Institute fulfill the College’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and the pursuit of equity, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do. They will be responsible for budgeting, operations, and reporting for all Institute activities
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Film, Media, or Business. A related field with considerable experience in the domain may be considered
  • Experience leading and facilitating annual strategic and financial planning processes with an emphasis on generating revenue from an entrepreneurial lens
  • Experience developing or teaching academic programs and customized training tailored to the needs of industry, non-profit, government and community partners with a student-centered approach
  • Several years’ experience working in entertainment and media arts
  • Extensive experience managing financial matters including budget, variance analysis and cost-benefit analysis
  • Demonstrated effective human resource management skills including, supervising and directing employees, evaluating employee performance, authorization of employee leaves and overtime
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and proactively identify opportunities, take initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop manage and grow partnerships with industry, government, and educational institutions
  • Proven ability to monitor industry trends and proactively conceive and design profitable solutions to respond to the needs of industry and meet the financial targets of the department
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to prepare updates, reports, briefing notes and proposals
  • Ability to represent the College and develop positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Knowledge and experience in advancing Truth and Reconciliation and the calls to action
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in Post Secondary Education
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to travel
  • Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
